Eulogies Added

Several people have asked for transcripts of Dad’s eulogies; they are located here:

Thank You

I know I also speak for Rick and Erin when I say “Thank You” to all who attended RC’s service, or sent us flowers, cards, photos or emails.

I’ve never been through something like this before and never realized how much it meant to hear from people who knew and loved Dad. There were faces at the service I had not seen in years, some from my childhood, and friends from Dad’s past whom I had never met.

I thought the service, weather, people and food could not have been better; RC would have approved!

I am sorry that I did not get a chance to speak with everyone. I would to better keep-in-touch and will send notes to everyone I have contact info for. Rick or Erin and I can be reached through our Contact Page.

Lastly, we received several new photos which I will be adding to the Photo Gallery within a few days. I’ve also been asked to add copies of the eulogies read by Rick, Erin and me. I will have them up in a couple of days.

Guestbook Online

Tonight I was finally able to add a guestbook feature to the site. We would love and appreciate any comments you have about your memories of RC. You can view the guestbook HERE.

We’ve added many photos to the site. Please check out the Photo Gallery and do some reminiscing. You may leave comments as well.

Ron “RC” Caricofe, 11-2-1945 – 4-2-2010

Ron Caricofe - 2008On Thursday, April 1, 2010, I drove Dad to Potomac Hospital after he exhibited shortness of breath and general drowsiness. The Hospital staff discovered an abnormal EKG and quickly transferred him to Fairfax Inova Hospital via helicopter.

Doctors at Fairfax Inova Hospital immediately performed a Cardiac Catheterization procedure to remove blockage in an artery leading to his heart. Their efforts were unsuccessful and Dad was placed in the Coronary Care Unit for stabilization and further evaluation.

Dad’s condition worsened into the night and at 1am on April 2, Dad was sedated and placed on a ventilator to help his breathing. Dad’s condition did not improve the next morning. At 2pm, on Friday, April 2, 2010, Dad passed peacefully, asleep, without pain. Several family members were present; Uncle Rick and I held his hands when he died and told him we all loved him.

Dad was an amazing father and friend. I realized long ago how thankful I was to have him for my Dad. He dearly loved his family and friends and would do anything to help those he cared about.

Much more information will be added to this site in the coming days. Please click the “Contact Family” link at the top of the site to send us your prayers, comments or questions. We will also have a guestbook setup in a few days and would appreciate very much if you shared your thoughts with us.

Best,

Brad Caricofe, Erin Caricofe & Rick Caricofe
